Oops, I did it again! Yep, I made cinnamon rolls- and these aren’t just any cinnamon rolls…they are pumpkin! All my fall fiends rejoice- this is the real taste of the season!
I don’t even know where I got the idea for pumpkin cinnamon rolls but I had this can of pumpkin in my pantry and I wanted to use it. So, my first stop was Smitten Kitchen and low-and-behold she has a pumpkin cinnamon roll recipe. See, Deb and I are clearly on the same wavelength. We’d probably be the best of friends!
These rolls are pretty much like any other cinnamon roll- just with the addition of puréed pumpkin. I loved the light and fluffy dough and the filling- with all the brown sugar goodness- it was perfect! The spice mixture that Deb suggested was reminiscent of a pumpkin pie and everything about this made me happy. That is until the clean up…
Yeah, the clean up for cinnamon rolls is a beast! Usually I bemoan cleaning up, but this time it was worth it!!
The final product was fall perfection! The glaze/frosting was think and delicious, the roll itself was light and fluffy, and the spices were just right! I highly, HIGHLY suggest ringing in the fall season with these on your breakfast table!!
