Good Reads

I finally got back into reading – I was struggling a bit there with have the motivation (ad the ability to stay awake!) to actually make it through a book. But, now that life is seemingly back to normal, for the most part, and work is ending for the year, reading has become more of a priority!

Nick Offerman is an amazing author. He’s funny. He’s witty. He’s actually very thoughtful and thought provoking. His newest book, Where the Deer and the Antelope Play: The Pastoral Observations of One Ignorant American Who Loves to Walk Outside is an interesting look at Covid, America, and how we became the nation that we are.

The book is highlights Offerman’s adventures with his friends exploring America’s outdoors pre-Covid, and then the round-trip he took with his wife across the country during Covid. He observes Americans in the wild, looks at the problems with us losing touch with nature, and he does it all with humor and funny insights.

This book made me laugh, but it also made me think – which is a beautiful combo, in my opinion!
