As I mentioned last week, Tay and I recently made the trek to Texas to visit family… and meet the newest addition to the clan, baby Rhys. Trips to Texas have started to feel like going home, even though I have never lived there. With my brother and his family, and my parents down the street, it is really the people who make it feel like old times!
This trip was all about baby cuddles! Rhys is the cuddliest little baby and I could not get enough. It seems like forever since Tay was that small and I soaked it all in. I also got a lot of “boy time” hanging with my two older nephews – whom I adore.
One of the highlights of the trip… finally getting to visit the Shady Llama! This outdoor beer garden has been high on my list of places I wanted to go, but it is notoriously difficult to find parking on the weekends. But, this trip was my lucky break. The Shady Llama has amazing views, comfortable outdoor seating, and llamas! I was impressed with their local beer and wine list and even more taken with their adorable family of my favorite furry beasts. The couple of hours we spent there were the perfect paradise… in my opinion!
On our last night there, my sister-in-law, Jessica, pulled out all the stops and brought out the game, Beanboozled. It is a ridiculous game where you eat a jelly jean that can either be a “good flavor” or a “gross” flavor. Juicy Pear or Booger? Birthday Cake or Dirty Dish Water? It was a fun game for all of us… and just look at my brother’s face when he got a nasty flavor… priceless!
Overall, it was a quick trip… but it was a good trip!
