Do you have a friend that you are pretty sure lives inside your head and knows your thoughts probably as well as you do? Well, that’s my friend, Asya. It’s kind of ridiculous how we can read each other’s minds and I always know when she recommends something, I will love it. Asya recently gifted me the book, The Masterpiece, by Fiona Davis and I was so excited to discover a new author of a book (I assumed) I would love. And guess what… I did!
Apparently Fiona Davis has been around awhile – she has authored a number of books- but I had yet to discover her. In The Masterpiece, Davis tells the story of two women separated by about 40 years (the 1930s and the 1970s) and tells their stories about love, freedom, and finding their passion.
This book was good! It was multi-layered, which I loved, and the characters were so well conceived – I was really rooting for them!!! The descriptions of the artwork were vivid – I felt like I could really see the works that were being created. Overall, I fell in love with this book and I cannot wait to read more of what Fiona Davis has written. I love finding new authors!!!
