It’s still 90+ degrees in Southern California, but for Tay and me, it’s fall! I love fall – it’s my favorite of all the seasons. Sweaters, candles, soup, cold days and even colder nights…this is the stuff I live for! I had not realized until this past year, but I have raised my daughter exactly the same! As soon as school started, Tay started begging me to decorate for fall, and I held her off until now. But, it’s late September and the decorating must commence!
Most of our decorations have been accumulated over time. My favorite spots to find fall decor is Target (mostly because I am always there!) and Joann’s. I have found that Joann’s has the best prices on decor- they set out the fall stuff mid-summer and by September, it is all marked down at least 60%. I tend to pick out one or two new things a year to add to our collection. That way, I can retire and get rid of the stuff that is worn out, and keep my decorations fresh.
My decorations would not be complete without some homemade touches from Tay. I’ve kept most of her school projects from over the years and I love to incorporate them into the decor. My favorite? The little candy dish that is supposed to be a turkey that she made out of clay in kindergarten. It houses candy corn each year…that somehow mysteriously disappear each and every night!

My mom is a great decor gift-giver (I know I totally got my seasonal decorating obsession for her!) and last year she found this adorable hedgehog to add to my collection. When I pulled him out this year – I just had to smile!
Of course, the key to my fall decor is the smell of fall- something that I can’t at all capture here! As soon as the decorations went up, the fall candles were lit! Our house will now smell of pumpkins, vanilla, cinnamon, and all the other delicious scents of the season!

It all looks so great! Fall is my favourite season too:)
