If you haven’t figured it out by now, downtown Ventura is my happy place. I love the vibe. I love the weather. I love the stores. And, I especially love the food! A few weekends ago Greg and I dropped Tay and a friend at the beach and decided to check out some of the deliciousness that Ventura has to offer!

Our first stop was for coffee, because mornings demand some caffeine! I wanted to try a new spot I had read about, Humblemaker Coffee. This new spot opened up right off of Main Street and has the most adorable outdoor patio to sit back and relax in. The coffee was exceptional. All drinks can be made with almond or oat milk and they have the option to include CBD in your coffee, which I did! It was the perfect start to the day!

After walking around a bit and checking out some of my favorite little stores, Greg and I ended up at a nice outdoor table at Finny’s Crafthouse. Finny’s is a local chain and I have always loved their food and beer collection. I decided I wanted something on the lighter side for lunch so I branched out from my norm and tried the Mini Ahi Poke Tacos. They come in an order of 3, 4, or 5 so I went with four for a perfect sized lunch. These tacos were spectacular! Soy marinated ahi, yuzu crema, avocado all served in a crispy wonton shell… I was in heaven!

Finally, before it was time to leave my little weekend paradise, Greg and I finished off the day with a beer from Topa Topa Brewery. A family favorite, Greg ended up with his typical Level Line Pale Ale and I went with the Light Hike Kolsch Style Ale. Both were refreshing a a wonderful way to end the day.
There are so many places to try in Ventura and if you ever find yourself there, try somewhere new! I have rarely been disappointed!
