One thing that I love about where we live, is the fact that there are so many fun, cool places to explore. The mountains, the beach, and everything in between…whatever you are craving- we’ve got it! One of my favorite small towns to explore has always been Ojai. Nestled in the hills about Ventura, it is a small artist enclave that has awesome little stores, great restaurants, and amazing views.

We had not been to Ojai since before Covid, so I was so excited to take a couple of hours one Saturday to explore. Not much had changed since we had been there, but we did find a few new stores that caught our attention. The first one was a plant store (so typical of us!) that had amazing pots, plants, and home décor. Right next to it was a fabulous little gelato shop, Sanders & Sons, that had some of the best dessert I have had! I also totally fell in love with their multi-hued cones…

We couldn’t leave without stopping at one of our favorite Ventura County breweries, Topa Topa, and grabbing a few beers and some food. This was our first time at the Ojai tasting room, and they had a nice patio (dog friendly!) and it was right on the main street so it was a perfect spot to people watch and take in the beauty of the town.

On our way out, we made one final stop at Bart’s Books. This indoor/outdoor bookstore has been on my list of places to visit for some time. Not really knowing where it was, we stumbled upon it by accident and I was so excited we did. Bart’s is an old home that has been turned into a bookstore that has so many nooks for reading and plants all around. I loved the vibe there and could have spent hours perusing the aisles.
All -in-all it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon and I cannot wait to return!
