Feeding My (Shoe) Obsession

I love shoes – always have, always will! My favorite thing about my current closet is the amazing shoe storage I have. My shoes are beautifully displayed and they have room to breathe and be happy! With Covid and quarantine, I took an unexpected hiatus from shoe-buying. I mean, I was living in my slippers 99% of the time, and when I did go out, it was in my running shoes! So, this fall/winter I finally broke down and purchased some new shoes for the first time in like 2 years – it was time for a refresh!

I never planned on buying new Dr. Marten’s for myself… but here they are sitting in my closet! Tay wanted the Dr. Marten Mary Jane’s for Christmas so I ordered them online on Black Friday and was so proud of myself! Turns out, they were too big for her… but happened to fit me perfectly. I have been seeing chunky loafers all of IG and I loved them, and these seemed to fit the bill. I fell in love instantly and I love how they reminded me of being in high school, while adding a funky, cute touch to my basic outfits. (*Note: Tay did get the same pair, in her size, for Christmas. Twinsies!!!*)

I have long loved the look of gum-bottomed sneakers and I have been on the look out for the perfect pair. After much searching, I found these Cariumba Catiba Pro sneakers, and they were perfect… well, actually, they are beyond perfect! Not only are they incredibly comfortable and cute, but they are also the most eco-friendly shoe I have found out there! They are made with all recycled and ethically-sourced materials and shipped to limit your carbon footprint. I love everything about these shoes, and I am so happy that Greg read my Christmas list closely and ordered them for me!!!

Finally, my mom and dad came through this Christmas and bought me my very own pair on Pons! A few weeks ago I blogged about how I found these funky and adorable shoes in Ventura, and low-and-behold, my very own pair arrived via mail from my parents who love me so much! I got the Classic Style Women’s Pons in Taupe and I cannot wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear them out and about. These are going to be the perfect summer shoe!
