Fall is my favorite food season. The comfort food abounds and I feel like the home cooked meals are a giant blanket that warms my soul. I know it is cheesy, but it is so true! I love trying new recipes that create this feeling and I found a ton of them on the Half Baked Harvest website. There are so many I cannot wait to try! First up, Slow Cooker French Wine and Mustard Chicken.

I think we can all agree that any recipe that is a slow cooker recipe is a winner. It is just so easy – and, bonus- the house smells amazing! This recipe was crazy simple; make a gorgeous mustard cream sauce, brown the chicken, and let it be. You’ll need to add some kale at the end, but that’s effortless. Yep, that’s it!
I decided to make mashed potatoes to serve alongside this chicken, but you could pretty much choose any starch. I think polenta or even egg noodles would complement the chicken nicely. I also broiled some Honey Nut Squash I had sitting around to go with the dinner. It was a perfect fall addition!

I loved how this recipe included the sauce, chicken, and veggie all in one. It was a perfect one dish meal with minimal cleanup. The other gem of this recipe… the leftovers were even better the next day! No lie- my lunch was incredible!!!
