The main attraction for our Texas adventure was in Driftwood… and our family! After spending a delightful 24 hours with my friend Asya and her family, we spent the rest of the trip with my parents, my brother, sister-in-law, and two amazing nephews.

Driftwood is an adorable suburb of Austin where the houses are gorgeous and the lots are expansive. It is bordered by another adorable small town, Dripping Springs and has some of the best food, drinks, and views in all of Texas (at least in my opinion!)

This was the first time I had visited my parents new house in Driftwood and I was enamored with the whole place. While my brother and his family have lived in Texas for a few years, my parents recently made the move to the Lone Star state in the middle of Covid. They are conveniently located down the street from my brother, so it was fun going between the two houses! While my parents house is entirely farm-house perfection, my favorite part of the whole house is the cute little potting shed they built off the garage. This little “she-shed” for my mom is just perfection!

We spent a lot of time swimming in the pool, reading books to the little guys, and Tay’s new favorite pastime – frog hunting the in garden! I had forgotten how much energy it takes to chase after 4 and 5 year-olds and I was exhausted by the end of the day!

Of course, as always, my family and I indulged in some fantastic food and drinks while I was there. Jessica (my fabulous SIL) brought over Dripping Donuts one morning, my brother and I relaxed on the patio of the Deep Eddy’s Distillery one afternoon, and we all combined our talents for a fabulous Mexican fiesta dinner at home.

We had such an incredible trip to see our family in Texas and unearthed some awesome finds! Until next time…
