If you don’t like doughnuts then you can’t be my friend. It’s as simple as that. Besides French fries (the most sacred of all the foods!) doughnuts are the most perfect creation…fried dough, topped with an endless variety of sweet or savory or salty toppings that you can pass off as a breakfast food!!!
The other morning I wanted to make something special for Tay’s breakfast so I decided to pull out my doughnut pan and attempt chocolate doughnuts. I found a recipe on Pinterest from Bakerish and it looked decedent and delicious.
Guys, if you have never made baked doughnuts in a pan- let me fill you in on a super-low-tech secret…the Ziploc baggie! Put your dough in the bag, snip off the end, and pipe it onto your doughnut pan. It will save you tons of frustration and a huge mess. You are welcome.
Instead of dunking the doughnuts in glaze, I decided to drizzle the glaze over the top which made them look a little like backwards zebras- which I love!! But, I will say, if I made these again, I would dunk ’em. The glaze was so good and it paired so perfectly with the cake part…they were meant for each other!
